CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR RESIDENT CHAMBER ENSEMBLES
XIII GRAMADO IN CONCERT
INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Organization of the XIII Gramado In Concert – International Music Festival hereby announces this Call for Applications, which establishes the rules governing the selection of Resident Chamber Ensembles to take part in the Festival's artistic and educational programs.

1. PURPOSE
1.1 The purpose of this Call for Applications is to select three (3) Resident Chamber Ensembles to participate in the XIII Gramado In Concert – International Music Festival, to be held from January 22 to 30, 2027, in the city of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
1.2 Full scholarships will be awarded to the selected ensembles, covering a total of up to fifteen (15) musicians among the three ensembles.
1.3 This Call aims to encourage the development, artistic excellence, promotion, and circulation of Brazilian and international chamber ensembles while fostering artistic exchange among musicians, faculty members, and institutions throughout the Festival.

2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Applications are open to Brazilian and international chamber ensembles consisting of three (3) to eight (8) members.
2.2 All participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There is no maximum age limit.
2.3 The ensemble's instrumentation must be compatible with the Festival's masterclasses and may include the following instruments:
Violin;
Viola;
Cello;
Double Bass;
Oboe;
English Horn;
Piccolo;
Flute;
Bassoon;
Clarinet;
Bass Clarinet;
Saxophone;
Trumpet;
French Horn;
Trombone;
Euphonium;
Tuba;
Classical Guitar;
Percussion.
2.4 Only ensembles able to demonstrate a minimum of six (6) months of documented artistic activity by the application deadline will be eligible.
2.5 Selected ensembles must arrive in Gramado on January 21, 2027, and depart on January 31, 2027.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SELECTED ENSEMBLES
3.1 Each of the three (3) Resident Chamber Ensembles shall present:
I – three (3) recitals, each lasting 45 to 60 minutes;
II – one (1) shared recital with the other selected ensembles, during which each ensemble shall perform for up to twenty (20) minutes.
3.2 All performances will be part of the Festival's Official Artistic Program and will take place at venues, dates, and times designated by the Festival Organization.
3.3 All ensemble members must participate in the Ensemble Practice Sessions to which they are assigned by the Festival's Artistic Direction and may also attend the masterclasses corresponding to their respective instruments.
3.4 During the Festival, ensembles must use their own instruments. The Festival will provide piano (electronic keyboard) and percussion instruments only, subject to availability.

4. FESTIVAL BENEFITS
4.1 Members of the selected ensembles will be considered Full Scholarship Recipients and will receive the following benefits:
I – waiver of the Festival registration fee;
II – accommodation in the Festival student residence/hotel;
III – meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for up to ten (10) nights.
4.2 In addition to participating in the Festival's masterclasses and Ensemble Practice Sessions, each Resident Chamber Ensemble will receive two (2) chamber music coaching sessions with members of the Festival faculty.

5. APPLICATIONS
5.1 Applications will be accepted from August 3 through August 23, 2026.
5.2 Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online application form available on the Festival's official website.
5.3 In addition to providing the requested information, the group must include, on the application form, two links to videos hosted online that contain excerpts from the group’s public performances.
5.4 The results of the selection process will be announced within three (3) days after the application deadline.
5.5 Members of ensembles wishing to participate in the Festival even if their ensemble is not selected under this Call should also submit an individual application as Festival students. Should the ensemble not be selected, those applicants may still participate in the Festival through the regular student selection process.

6. EVALUATION
6.1 The Selection Committee shall be composed of the Artistic Direction of the XIII Gramado In Concert – International Music Festival.
6.2 Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
I – compliance with the requirements established in this Call and in the application form;
II – the ensemble's artistic background;
III – relevance of the ensemble's artistic profile to the Festival's objectives;
IV – artistic quality of the ensemble.

7. USE OF IMAGE, VOICE, AUDIO, AND VIDEO
Participation in the XIII Gramado In Concert – International Music Festival constitutes the participant's free authorization for the recording, use, and publication of their image, voice, and artistic performances in photographs, audio recordings, and video recordings produced by the Festival Organization or by third parties authorized by it.
Participants authorize such materials to be used, reproduced, edited, adapted, published, distributed, and communicated, in whole or in part, through any existing or future physical or digital media, exclusively for institutional, educational, cultural, historical, journalistic, and promotional purposes related to the Festival, without territorial limitation and for an indefinite period.
This authorization includes, but is not limited to, use in printed publications, books, catalogs, concert programs, reports, promotional materials, institutional campaigns, websites, digital platforms, social media, streaming services, video channels, live broadcasts, television, radio, podcasts, and other communication media. Such materials may also be stored in physical or digital archives and databases.
Participants further authorize the use of their name, image, voice, and biographical information related to their participation in the Festival for identification, publicity, and historical documentation purposes.
The authorizations granted under this section are free of charge, irrevocable, and irreversible, and shall not entitle participants to any compensation, remuneration, or financial indemnification, without prejudice to the moral rights guaranteed under Brazilian law.
Any personal data collected during the application process and Festival participation shall be processed in accordance with Brazilian Federal Law No. 13,709/2018 (General Data Protection Law – LGPD) and shall be used exclusively for the management, administration, communication, and institutional promotion of the Festival, in compliance with the principles of purpose limitation, necessity, security, and all other applicable legal provisions.
The Festival Organization may authorize sponsors, supporting organizations, institutional partners, and media outlets to use such materials exclusively for the promotion of the Festival and its activities. Any commercial use unrelated to the Festival is expressly prohibited.

8. FINAL PROVISIONS
8.1 Submission of an application constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of all provisions set forth in this Call for Applications.
8.2 All travel expenses between the participant's place of residence and Gramado, including return travel, shall be the sole responsibility of the participants. The Festival does not provide airfare, ground transportation, or any other transportation assistance.
8.3 In the event that a selected ensemble withdraws from participation, it must formally notify the Festival Organization at least forty-five (45) days before the beginning of the Festival. In such cases, the Organization may invite an alternate ensemble according to the order of classification.
8.4 Any matters not covered by this Call shall be decided by the Organization of the XIII Gramado In Concert – International Music Festival.
